Megmeister Autumn/Winter 21 New Kit Lineup

OK, so the nights are starting to close in and there’s a nip in the morning air. That means it’s time to take a look at the kit you are going to need to take you through the winter cycle season. Whether you’re a commuter cyclist, leisure cycle enthusiast or team rider you will need to make sure you are comfortably protected from all the wind, rain and cold that the British winter will throw at you.
This year the Megmeister R&D team have been busy perfecting new products incorporating the latest textile technology, to ensure you have best available protection that will also enhance performance. With Megmeister, quality is a given, as our Gold Award at the 2021 ISPO Awards testifies. We’re proud of this international recognition for our hard work in producing the very best base layers and protective performance clothing and are delighted that we can incorporate our award-winning tech into our new cycle ranges.
First up there’s our L8 WINTER THERMOROUBAIX BIB TIGHT for both men and women. These bib tights are packed with innovative fabric technology, including the amazing M.I.T.I SuperRoubaix fleece which has been treated with a special DWR treatment to deliver outstanding water repellent capabilities to keep rain at bay, whilst the heavier brushed fleece surface of the bib short provides excellent thermal insulation. As with all Megmeister garments, a huge emphasis has been placed on product design and we have worked with cycle teams to ensure our performance fit provides maximum freedom of movement, support and comfort, whilst delivering excellent efficient aerodynamics to help keep cyclists on their bikes over the long winter season.
It’s also important to address the issue of safety, especially with the advent of dark mornings and evenings, so our design team have added reflective logos to the legs of the bib shorts together with a band of high reflective water repellent fabric around the ankle and calves. For protection in the saddle, we have included our lab-tested 3D WAS Chamois for improved comfort and dampening on long rides. Our men’s and women’s versions have been designed taking the different requirements of men’s and women’s cyclists in mind. It can get sweaty when you’re into a ride in inclement weather, so we have included a special knitted back panel on the bib shorts for maximum breathability. Despite the level of protection our Megmeister L8 WINTER THERMOROUBAIX BIB TIGHTS provide they are still very lightweight at 280g for the men’s versions and 260g for the women’s. If you are cycling anywhere when its 5-15ºC these are the bib shorts for you.
We also present a stunning range of men’s and women’s THERMAL WINTER JERSEYS in black, navy and burgundy, that fully complement our L8 bib shorts. These too feature renowned M.I.T.I ThermoRoubaix fabric complete with a treatment of DWR to increase the garment’s excellent hydrophobic qualities and prevent moisture absorption. There’s the neat design feature of 3 rear pockets complete with covers to avoid any water seeping into them and damaging items such as phones or wallets. For safety there are highly reflective signature logos on both the back and sleeves. These jerseys have been designed to be your go-to garments for winter riding with all the protection you require together with a highly aerodynamic fit and low bulk.
Be prepared is a great motto for cyclists but you also need to be wary about what you can carry on your bike with you in case of weather changes. Which is why the Megmeister HYBRID WIND VEST for men and women is the perfect carry along companion. This super lightweight garment weighs an incredible 100g and packs away easily into your jersey’s back pockets, however it also packs an amazing protective punch, if required. It has enhanced wind proof capabilities with excellent thermoregulation, is water repellent and is breathable. In short, it is the perfect garment to bring along for variable conditions, where it can be easily added on top of your cycle jersey to create an extra layer of protection. It is made from high performance Sympatex fabric that is PTF and PTFE free.
Features include a fully integrated merino mesh back panel for stretch and breathability and when worn in tandem with the Megmeister THERMAL WINTER JERSEY, this mesh panel cleverly allows the reflective prints on the jersey shine through. In addition, there’s two handy, pre-cut designed slits to enable access to the jersey pockets underneath. A specially designed high collar combines with a YKK zipper to keep wind at bay and for safety, there’s the addition of reflective transfers and on the back panel, a highly reflective logo print.
No winter cycle kit list is complete without a jacket and this year we present the Megmeister 4 SEASONS WINTER JACKET – a tech masterpiece that really meets the demands of winter cycling. It has been designed utilising a hard-wearing high-performance fabric and features a raft of technical features. Key to the jacket’s appeal is the way we have integrated an advanced outer membrane with a luxury merino lining, creating the
perfect balance between warmth and breathability together with added air circulation. The jacket is water repellent (complete with fully tapered, waterproof seams), thermal and windproof has also been anatomically fitted to the riding position. There’s handy, secure zippered side pockets and, for safety, a highly reflective printed back panelwith reflective logo and reflective shoulder stitching.
