There couldn’t be a better embodiment of stamina, fortitude and a winning mentality than new Megmeister Athlete Emma Joy, known and loved by many as Lipstick and Trainers on instagram. As a multi-sport athlete and 70.3 Ironman finisher, Emma is an inspiration to many with her boundless energy, enthusiasm and dedication.

Over the coming weeks we’ll be following her journey to another 70.3 Ironman in June as puts Megmeister apparel to the test in training rides and runs. To get to know Emma a little better, we thought we’d find out some important, and less important information!

Don't think about the mile you’re in, always look ahead. You can apply this to riding/racing as well as your day to day life! It may feel bad right now, but better times are coming.”

Quickfire Questions

What is your favourite time of day, and why?

I love late morning/early afternoon. It’s when I’m most energised and the day is bright!

If you could eliminate one thing from your daily routine, what would it be?

I’m not sure on this one, maybe the mundane day-to-day chores like getting changed. If I could click my fingers and be ready, that would be great Haha!

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?

Dont think about the mile you’re in, always look ahead. You can apply this to riding/racing as well as your day to day life! It may feel bad right now, but better times are coming.

What is your favourite race/competition/event?

If I were to look at the events that I have done more than once, it would be the Great North Run and the Big Half. They are great events, but I also loved the half Ironman in Portugal Cascais - just STUNNING!

What is the one item that you always take away on a trip with you?

My running shoes 👟

If you had to eat one meal every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Pizza! I am obsessed and it’s a post-race must-have for me!

If you could live anywhere in the world for a year, where would it be?

I love running in the heat, so probably Australia or New Zealand, what stunning countries!

Thanks Emma, we look forward to seeing more of you in Megmeister kit this year!

I have loved Megmeisters base layers, so it’s exciting to work with a brand that looks great and does the job right! Looking forward to training in the Megmeister gear 🤩
